Accessibility Statement

In accordance with national legislation for implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the European Council, RWTH Aachen University is committed to ensuring that its websites are accessible to the widest possible audience.

In accordance with the Ordinance on the Creation of Accessible Information Technology pursuant to the NRW Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities, this accessibility statement reflects the status of implementation for the domain you are currently visiting. More precisely, it documents the results of the BITV self-assessment test.

The website is continuously being assessed using random samples. As a rule, conformity with accessibility requirements can only be determined for individual web pages. Making a statement on the degree of accessibility of the entire website would require a check of each individual page of the website. For large websites, this is not practicable. However, testing a representative sample of pages, i.e. a selection of pages that covers as many potential barriers to accessibility as possible, allows us to draw conclusions about the accessibility of the entire website.

Conformity to Accessibility Standards – Current Status

This website largely complies with the BITV standards.

Non-Accessible Content

The content listed below does not fully meet current accessibility standards:

Despite all care taken in the creation of this website, it is possible that words and sections appear in a language other than the default language and that this is not properly indicated.

Furthermore, it is not possible to guarantee full accessibility of embedded content, such as YouTube videos or content from sources such as external databases.

In addition, we cannot guarantee full accessibility to internally linked PDF documents uploaded via the CMS.

We are currently working on removing these barriers to accessibility.

Date of This Accessibility Statement

This statement was prepared on October 28, 2020.
